Getting Ready for Spring

We are several warm days into spring and if you have not already started working in the yard, you’ve started to think about what you want to do.
Even if you have stayed active exercising during the winter, the awkward postures and unbalanced loads associated with yard work can result in injuries.
When starting with your spring projects, treat it just like a workout.

    1. Warm up/Loosen up before beginning your work

    2. Maintain a neutral spine to minimize abnormal loading. (Avoid bent over postures).

    3. Take frequent breaks (at least every  45 minutes to loosen up and give your muscles a break.

          4. Stay hydrated.

          5. Don’t do too much the first day. See how you feel the next day before adding to your workload.

          6. Get some help with the heavy or awkward items.

          7. Wear sunscreen.

          8. Stretch and relax when done.

If you end up a little sore and want some help feeling better, give me a call.
